Patricia Mayes joined NanoRacks as the DreamUp Director in 2012. Her goal is to bring NanoRacks' low-cost educational programs into the classroom. She is passionate about helping students realize their dream of undertaking an International Space Station project and simplifying the process. Building strong relationships with students around the world is important to her. A personal goal of hers is to share and showcase each project, because she is constantly inspired by her client’s imaginative designs.
As part of her work, Mayes helps researchers from a broad spectrum of personal styles, needs, disciplines, and ages. She enjoys a diverse group of clients who are from all 50 states, plus Ireland, Canada, Israel, Italy, Japan, Germany, and Australia.
Patricia works hand-in-hand with the DreamUp Advisory Board, who approve student payloads as feasible for research on the Space Station.
Prior to her position as DreamUp Director, Patricia was a career educator and helped thousands of students of diverse backgrounds and cultures reach their academic goals on campuses in Texas and Central America. A graduate of Sul Ross State University with a degree in English, she also holds a teaching certificate, and obtained a Masters degree in International Studies from Texas State University-San Marcos.
In her free time, Patricia enjoys traveling and being with her family and yellow labrador.
