Lead your students through an amplified experience with this lesson plan, designed to accompany our Germs in Space DreamKits. Written by a current science educator, and aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards, this lesson plan will guide your students through a two or three-week journey to discover the small life around them and on the International Space Station. Following this plan, students will go through two rounds of the Germs in Space DreamKit, first discovering the microbial growth in the areas they choose, and then joining a “Biohazards Task Force” that must establish protocols to protect our astronauts in space and analyze their effectiveness.
